I have pressed every button, and have tried just about every combination. And still nothing! I need my caffeine fix! Please help before I lose my mind! Thanks so much!It is plugged in, and I'm not married to a man! I'm a lesbian!

I have a coffee pot (Cuisinart 2GB-300BK) and I can't get it to make a pot of coffee!!! HELP PLEASE!!!?

For some reason, when I make coffee at home with my 4 cup coffee maker, it has a chemical taste/smell. It sort of smells like rubbing alcohol, and tastes how it smells. I am using the correct amount of coffee, and I made sure there is no soap residue from when I wash out the pot and filter basket.
